Many Americans miss medical appointment or must delay care because they don’t have access totransportation that meets their specific needs. Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) is a transportation service provided to individuals who are not in an emergency situation, but need more medical assistance and specialized equipment than other transportation options can provide.
MedTran provides transportation to individuals who are wheelchair-bound or have another medical condition which makes traditional transportation like cabs or public transportation difficult. MedTran specializes in door-to-door delivery of clients to medical appointments, as well as transportation to non-medically related outings such as shopping trips, airport pickup and drop-offs, and family get-togethers.
How much does Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Cost?
Our service rates for individuals who plan to pay for their ride privately are set based on the rider’s transportation needs. To make determining the cost of a ride simple, please refer to the table below:

Scheduling a Ride
How one would schedule a ride for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation depends on how the individual plans to pay for their ride. For many, private insurance and Medicaid benefits may cover the cost. If a client plans to use their Medicaid or insurance benefit to pay for their ride, the client will need to schedule their ride through their insurance or Medicaid broker. MedTran cannot schedule these rides directly.
If a client plans to pay for their ride privately, they can call MedTran directly and speak to our full-time dispatcher who is available Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM at 800-550-3782.
