MedTran Spokane is about so much more than non-emergency medical transportation. The business was born when the founder experienced a clear need in the community for high quality, consistent support to individuals in need of medical transportation. This amazing business began serving the greater Spokane community in a way that truly made an impact on individuals with transportation barriers and their caregivers.

In 2019, the Spencer’s made MedTran a family-run business with brothers Mark and Lee at the helm, running day-to-day operations, while their parents and spouses provide insight into business decisions. The Spencer’s are so passionate about the work being done through MedTran Spokane. Here are their stories:

Mark

“My brother, Lee, was one of the first drivers for the company and moved into a dispatch role within the company.  When the original owner decided to sell, he looked to Lee to continue the continuity of the company and the service we provide.  Lee enlisted the help of me and my Dad, Dave, to have the whole family work together on helping MedTran continue to grow and assist more clients with their transportation needs.

We all bring different qualities to the team to help MedTran thrive and provide clients with the best service we possibly can.  We felt that all our attributes working together could really help this company realize its best potential.

We strive to deliver top quality transportation service to some of the most vulnerable members of our community that sometimes don’t have options for transport.  We look to give people the opportunity to go to an appointment, to the store, to see family, without having to worry about how to get there and back home.  Our friendly, professional drivers take pride in helping people with our door-to-door service and are constantly requested by name from our regular clients.”

Lee

“I started working for MedTran in 2014 as a driver. Not long after I was put on as a dispatcher. After dispatching for four years, I was given the opportunity to buy the company. I always knew how important these appointments are for the majority of our clients, and from hearing all about how bad their experiences were with other companies. I’ve made it a point to make sure our clients are well taken care of and that we are doing our best to keep them safe and comfortable to and from appointments. It gives me great pleasure when I hear how well our drivers are doing out there and I want to keep it that way. “

Dave

“When the opportunity to purchase MedTran was offered to us in early 2019, we thought it was a great way to be involved with our family in a worthwhile business.  MedTran is something we can all be very proud of.   We also believe that MedTran provides a vital service and we are very happy to help it grow. Being in business with our family, our sons and daughters-in-law, has been a blessing.
